    Yes, Jim Beam is one of the major distiillers of bourbon. The entire sordid history of the families craft can be found here And Jim Beam is one of their major brands along with Jim Beam Black.

    I think that is what you are asking, however in the spirit of wanting to provide much more than anyone but me is interested in let me also goive you the official definition of bourbon:

    True Bourbon Whiskey—Distilled from our own native maize, given character by limestone water and yeast from the salubrious air of the Bourbon Belt, cradled during its long slumber in barrels of charred white oak—Can with accuracy be called the distinctive spirit of our country. –United States Congress, Senate Concurrent Resolution 19. May 4 1964

    See, I told you guys the Congress and the Senate were good for something. 😉

    I didn’t know there was any controversy over Jim Beam’s bourbon-ness. I’ve heard controversy over Jack Daniels fitting into this category, but never Jimmy B.

    Just a little friendly ribbing for this guy:

    I noticed a whiskey advertisement plastered on the side of a building here in Chicago the other day. It showed a bottle of Jim Beam whiskey with the label removed and crumpled on the bottom of the ad next to it; the text of the ad read something like, “Chicago the ‘Second City?’ Labels mean nothing.�
