Autumn has finally descended upon the northern half of the world (though you might not recognize it if you live too close to the equator). In many nations that owe their heritage to Europe, it is customary to observe the advent of fall with a harvest festival that honors the dead, in English called Hallowe’en and All Saints. Now, I will grant you that Hallowe’en has become a gross distortion of what it once was, and no one but very religious people even remember the feast of All Saints. However, the same fate has befallen Christmas and Pascha/Easter. There is a point at which the true meaning of things must be recalled and then proclaimed to those who are lost in their ignorance.

In any case, as October is the month of preparing for the November 1 festivities, I wanted to direct your attention to Tim’s Pumpkin Carving Tool. This tool is especially useful when you get artistic in your pumpkin carving. Perhaps he will be gracious enough to point to some designs before the day is upon us.

Have fun at the party, Tim!
