I was surprised to find out that a close friend that I consider intelligent actually enjoys Survivor. “Survivor?” I said, blinking. “I mean, the show that comes before CSI?” I’m sure I must have looked at her like she had suddenly grown horns and a tail. I can’t imagine. I would more enjoy sex with a featherless chicken.
Then I realized that she is a mother of three (soon to be four), and her husband is usually out on Thursdays. Therefore, TV is the only time filler. Perhaps she means that Survivor is relatively more interesting than everything else that is on in the same time slot. Nah. That would mean that she thinks Survivor is more interesting than Whose Line Is It Anyway?. That’s just not possible. After all, she is a smart woman.
